Board of Fire Engineers welcomes new members and adopts policies

NH SANDOWN — Sandown fire board welcomes new members and adopts three policies. The Board of Fire Engineers added Lieutenant Perla Gilman and Firefighter Jamie Saltalamacchia as new members and approved policies governing media relations, Car 2 use, and fire prevention authority. Recent maintenance included replacement of Engine 1 tires and completion of ladder testing, with oil changes and an air compressor approval also completed.
Chief Michael Devine reported that regional development projects—including Sanctuary Estates, Lantern Lane, and Thistle Drive—have required fire-service infrastructure including 30,000-gallon cisterns and wider roads. Captain Kevin Major is pursuing an Assistance to Firefighters Grant to replace the Tanker, with a Plymovent System also being sought through congressional appropriations.
