Recreation Commission adopts formal capital improvement planning process
Recreation · Meeting of January 21, 2026
NH SANDOWN — Sandown Recreation Commission formalizes multi-year capital improvement planning. The board, led by Chairman George Blaisdell with commissioners Chris Longchamps, Sara Michalakis, and Sean Tiney, revised its strategic goals to prioritize a five percent participation increase, data collection improvements, equipment replacement, and tank removal at Ed Garvey playground. The commission separated pavilion design into a standalone five-year project and retained a proposed full-sized baseball diamond on goals without near-term prioritization.
Recreation Director Becky Francis clarified that new ADA regulations apply only to playgrounds created after January 1, 2024, and the board agreed to develop compliant pathways as equipment is replaced. In separate actions, the commission approved a 60 dollar refund for a registration error and announced new fused glass classes at 15 dollars per participant beginning in April.
