Recreation field opens to Baseball, Frenzy as TYSL departs

NH SANDOWN — Recreation Commission redirects field after TYSL exits contract. After Sandown Youth Sports League declined to renew its field contract, the Recreation Commission agreed to offer the space to Sandown Baseball and NH Frenzy; Sean Tiney suggested the move would address Baseball's T-ball practice limitations and enable multi-purpose field use. Director Becky Francis reported 2025 participation rose 13 percent, with survey responses climbing from 10 to 28.
The Commission set one-year goals including equipment replacement at Miller and tank removal from Ed Garvey, while identifying longer-term goals including an Ed Garvey sign and a 10-20 year plan for a Babe Ruth field.
