Heritage Commission approves $200 donation for library Constitution presentation

Heritage Commission · Meeting of April 2, 2026

NH SANDOWN — Sandown Heritage Commission funds library Constitution presentation as 250th Birthday planning advances. The commission voted unanimously Thursday to donate $200 toward expenses for a July 11 presentation titled "How the Constitution Helps Us Disagree" by Meg Mott PhD, scheduled for 1 p.m. at Town Hall. The speaker fee is $300, with the Library seeking a grant to cover half, and mileage costs of $162.40.

The commission is coordinating multiple 250th Birthday events, including a Heritage Fair in early October and a presentation on "Redcoats and Rebels – NH and the American Revolution" with dates tentatively set for May 6, June 1, or August 5. The Sandown Historical Society will open its depot museum in May and participate in a statewide scavenger hunt in July.
