Sandown Budget Committee Approves $6.6M Budget with New Police Officer

NH SANDOWN — Sandown Budget Committee approves $6.6M 2026 spending plan with new police officer. The committee voted unanimously, 7-0-0, to recommend the $6,613,082 operating budget, a 6 percent increase carrying a $5.65-per-thousand tax impact. In a split decision, members voted 6-1-0 to fund an additional full-time police officer at $103,000, with committee member Matthew Loeblich dissenting.

The committee also unanimously backed $728,500 in combined capital reserve fund contributions for road improvements, fire equipment, stormwater management, revaluation, and government buildings. A petition warrant article to reduce Selectmen stipends from $4,000 to $2,500 per year was not recommended, failing 0-5-2, with five members opposed and two abstaining.
