Sandown selectmen approve firefighter hire and road sander

NH SANDOWN — Sandown selectmen approve firefighter hire and equipment purchase. The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the hiring of Caleb Goldman as a firefighter at a starting wage of $16.84 per hour. The board also unanimously approved a $8,179.88 purchase of a road sander from B&C Inc. in Salem, Massachusetts, requested by DPW Director Rich O'Hanley to enhance winter road maintenance operations.

Chairman Eric Olsen was authorized to sign all standard ground ambulance contracts. The selectmen additionally accepted an aquatic plant control grant from the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services for Phillips Pond and confirmed appointments to the Senior Affairs Transportation Committee, Inspector of Elections, Exeter-Squamscott River Local Advisory Committee, and Oktoberfest Committee.
