Board of Selectmen approves hazard mitigation plan grant

NH SANDOWN — Sandown Board of Selectmen approves $9,900 hazard mitigation grant. The board unanimously accepted $7,425 in state funding from the Department of Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, with the town providing a $2,475 match. The board also made routine committee appointments in unanimous votes: AnnMarie Downing, Arianna Connors, and Robert Downing to Old Home Day; Laura Ross to Oktoberfest; Christopher Longchamps to Recreation.
Superintendent Justin Krieger reported the Timberlane Regional School District faces a $4 million FY27 budget reduction including elimination of two bus routes and 13 staff positions, with a heating system upgrade completed in 2025 and Danville fifth graders achieving a 49 percent pass rate on state science testing.
