Zoning Board Approves Whitlock Subdivision and Dwelling Conversion
Zoning Board of Adjustment · Meeting of February 26, 2026
NH SANDOWN — Sandown Zoning Board unanimously approves Hersey Road property subdivision and dwelling conversion. The board voted 5-0 on both variances for the 70-acre property at 48 Hersey Road owned by James A. Whitlock, Jr., allowing subdivision without Class V road frontage and conversion of an existing studio/workshop to year-round dwelling.
The applicant submitted state-approved septic plans from 2004 and presented documentation of recent system inspections showing the main house septic was serviced five years ago and the cabin septic inspected two years ago. Vice Chairman John White noted the application meets recent state zoning changes for Class V and VI roads. In separate business, the board continued Charles Pollano's rehearing application at the applicant's request to ensure a full five-member quorum.
